How to Reach Cortina During the Olympic Games
Train + Shuttle Bus
The most sustainable and convenient way to reach Cortina.
From major Italian cities, travelers can reach Ponte nelle Alpi by train, including high-speed services. From there, the dedicated Cortina 2026 Link shuttle service provides direct connections to Cortina d’Ampezzo (operating from 4-22 February and 4-15 March 2026).
A Train & Ride shuttle service will also operate from Dobbiaco/Toblach railway station, running:
from 6 am to 8 pm towards Cortina - from 10 am to 11:59 pm towards Dobbiaco
Direct Bus
A simple, comfortable, and scenic option.
Direct bus services to Cortina are available from Padua, Venice, and Treviso, as well as from Marco Polo Airport (VCE) and Antonio Canova Airport (TSF). Approximate travel time: 2 hours.
Public Transport
During the Games, regional rail and bus services to the Olympic host destination will be significantly strengthened.
In particular:
- FS Belluno – Calalzo / Pieve di Cadore / Cortina railway line: One train per hour in each direction - Service from 06 am to 12 am - Operating from 4-22 February and 4-15 March 2026
- Dolomitibus Line 30 – Calalzo to Cortina: - every 30 minutes from 05 am to 6 pm and every 60 minutes from 7 pm to 11 pm (January 23 – February 3 and February 23 - March 4 2026) - every 20 minutes from 05 am to 6 pm and every 30 minutes from 7 pm to 11 pm

Private Car
During the Olympic Games, temporary Limited Traffic Zones (LTZs) will be implemented within the municipality of Cortina d’Ampezzo.
These restrictions will apply only on competition days and during specific time slots, depending on event schedules. During LTZ activation periods, access to Cortina will be permitted exclusively to vehicles holding a Territories Car Pass.
The adoption of a dynamic LTZ system, aligned with the competitions’ schedule, allows traffic flows to be managed efficiently, reduces congestion, enhances safety around competition venues, and limits restrictions to periods when they are strictly necessary – ultimately improving the overall experience for residents and visitors alike.
Types of zones & passes
The territory is divided into zones with different levels of access:
- Zone 0 – Security Perimeter (Red): This corresponds to the three competition venues: the Olympic Curling Stadium, Cortina Sliding Center, and Tofane Alpine Center.
Access: No standard pass allows entry. Registration on a dedicated platform is required to obtain a VAPP (special pass with enhanced security controls). - Zone CORTINA 1 (Purple): Located near the competition venues.
Stadium Area: Via Marangoi, Via del Castello, Sopiazes, Via Ca’zanna, Via Alberto Bonacossa, Via dello Stadio. – Tofane Area: Col, Colfiere, Crignes, Gilardon, Lacedel, Lungoboite, Meleres, Mortisa, Pocol, Ronco, Sopiazes, Val di Sopra, Val di Sotto. The Purple Pass allows access to Zone 1 and also Zone 2. - Zone CORTINA 2 (Yellow): Covers the entire municipality, including all streets not included in the previous zones.
The Yellow Pass allows access only to Zone 2, not to Zone 1.
Zone activation varies depending on competitions: - Scenario 1 (Full Activation): Active during Alpine Skiing competitions (5 days in total). Zone 1 (Purple) extends along the entire SR48 from Via Lungoboite to Pocol. During these days, west-east crossing (from Giau and Falzarego passes) is prohibited without a Purple Pass.
- Scenario 2: When there are no competitions at Tofane, Zone 1 (Purple) is limited to the Stadium and Sliding Centre areas. In this case, Cortina is accessible from all directions with a Yellow Pass (Zone 2).
The SS51 axis will always be passable with a Yellow Pass (Zone 2).

The Purple Pass (Zone 1) will be personalized for each applicant and is non-transferable. The Yellow Pass (Zone 2) may be transferable only for specific categories indicated during the application process. The Purple Pass also allows access to Zone 2, but not vice versa.
It will not be possible to access the Olympic restricted traffic zones in Antholz (Anterselva) or any other restricted areas for the Games using a Cortina Cluster Pass, unless the corresponding pass for that area is held.
Getting Around Cortina
Cortina’s urban public transport system will remain operational during the Games, with some adjustments:
- The Skibus service (free for skipass holders) will operate with modified routes and stops due to the temporary unavailability of access to Freccia nel Cielo cablecar
- Service hours will be extended until 11.30 pm
- The intercity bus station will be temporarily relocated to the area in front of Apollonio Stadium. The terminal for urban transport will remain Piazza Roma.
During the Games, taxi, chauffeur-driven (NCC), and ride-hailing services will also be available, with dedicated pick-up and drop-off areas for travel to and from railway stations and airports.
How to Reach the Competition Venues: Spectator Services
On competition days, dedicated shuttle bus services will be organized from two railway stations – Ponte nelle Alpi for arrivals from the south and Dobbiaco/Toblach for arrivals from the north – as well as from five park-and-ride facilities:
- From the south: Longarone (350 parking spaces), San Vito di Cadore (950 parking spaces), Acquabona (50 parking spaces for visitors with reduced mobility) – paid car park, free shuttle bus
- From the north: Dobbiaco/Toblach (2,000 parking spaces) – free parking, paid shuttle service
- From the west: Son dei Prade (150 parking spaces) – paid car park, free shuttle bus
